By all accounts, the 4th Annual Black, Silver and Red Hot Jazz gala held April 18 was a huge success, netting nearly $13,000 to benefit the small learning communities of North Atlanta High School.
Nearly 200 people attended the black-tie affair, including former U.N. Ambassador and Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, who was honored for his support of North Atlanta’s International Baccalaureate program in its earliest days at North Fulton High School.
The Jazz Band offered up a stunning variety of jazz standards under the direction of Reginald Colbert, giving the patrons plenty of reasons to take to the dance floor.
The silent and live auctions raised thousands, and anyone who was there can attest that Principal Mark Mygrant has a second career waiting for him as an auctioneer/ringmaster/vaudevillian.
A big thanks to everyone who came out to support the event and to the dedicated Red Hot Jazz Committee led by North Atlanta parent and Foundation trustee Nancy Meister. The bar is set high for next year.
